Ravensbourne is located along the eastern edge of the Great Dividing Range. Remnant rainforest and eucalypt
forest are preserved here. Ravensbourne is a haven for the birdwatching enthusiast.
LAKE BROADWATER
Lake Broadwater is the largest conservation park in the Golden West region. It is also the only naturally
occurring freshwater lake on the northern Darling Downs. It is a popular spot for birdwatching and water
sports.
ISLA GORGE NATIONAL PARK
The spectacular maze of gorges and sandstone outcrops contrasts severely with the grassy plains of the
surrounding Taroom Shire. A lookout close to the Leichhardt Highway provides stunning views into this
deep, dry gorge.
